I designed this transitional case good line while I was with Synergy Product Development. It has been in production for over a decade.
Motorcoach recliner development, transportation seating

I designed Array to move ODL into the modern/loft market. When you operate the dial on the inside, one of the two panels rolls from side to side. This opens and closes the slots to adjust the amount of light. I was responsible for the look and feel of the aluminum panels and the operator dial.

Why did they name this chair Flex Nest? Well the back flexes due to the two steel rods attaching the back to the seat. It nests via its novel folding mechanism. To prove out the design I made this fully operable (and sittable) model out of steel and fiberglass. The Flex Nest has been in production for over a decade.
DIY Retractable Screen Door
One of my main goals on this project was to remove the frustration and apprehension involved in installation. Another was to create a simple and intuitive handle and latch. This was done whilst working closely with marketing to refine must-have features.
